Catherine Pond is the author of one collection of poetry, Fieldglass, winner of the Crab Orchard First Book Prize and a finalist for the National Poetry Series. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in journals including American Poetry Review, VQR, Oxford Poetry, and The Missouri Review, and in anthologies including Best New Poets and Best American Nonrequired Reading. She is the 2025 recipient of APR’s Stanley Kunitz Memorial Prize. Pond holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Southern California, an MFA from Columbia University, and a BA from Skidmore College. Formerly Assistant Director of the New York State Summer Writers Institute, she has taught Creative Writing at the Fashion Institute of Technology and USC. Pond is based in San Francisco, where she is at work on a second collection of poems and a book-length work of prose.
